IMPORTANT SITE NEWS

Hi All

This is difficult for me, but the time has come to announce that the http://torrent.genesis-movement.org will be closing its ports one final time on Saturday 26th September 2015.  The DC++ service (for those who remember it and still use it) will also cease at that time.  From now until the close of the site, all torrents will be freeleech.  

The Live Database and news parts of the website (http://www.genesis-movement.org) will remain online and may even get updated when I get time.  However the forums will be placed into read only mode for archive purposes.

I'm sure there will be speculation that I'm being sued, that the RIAA have got to me or that the band have demanded that I pull it.  None of those are true.  I am closing it for personal reasons and I believe the time has come.

I'd like to give my thanks to all of those who supported the site over the years by donating or sharing their recordings.  You made it the success it was.  I'd especially like to thank my three moderators, Andrew, Willem and Peter, without whom I would have lost even more sleep.

We had a run of almost exactly 10 years (just over in fact) and in that time we've had well over 1 million completed downloads!  It's been a bumpy ride at times, but overall I think we've all managed to share the music freely and made it available to the masses.  I've made lots of friends through the site, I hope you have too.

Time moves on, that was then, this is now.  It's only knock and knowall, but we liked it.

What a blessing your site has been! I was just talking about the day I first discovered the site - about 10 years ago! I remember the moment, actually. I believe my thought was, "wow, cool!" Turns out, that thought was the understatement of the decade. Thanks so much for the time and effort. I hope you find as much joy in your next endeavor as we all found in your site.

Thank you so much for all you have done on this site and this site has been my go to everyday to see what is happening in the Genesis World and related artists, I know I didn't chat too much but the site has been fantastic. I understand it eventually is time to move on, as I shed a little tear as type this. But hey Thanks so much for making this site a pleasure to view so often over the many years. I wish you much fun and excitement in the future..

Thank you so much for your labour of love. The DC++ and then this site have given me (and hundreds of other people, of course) the chance to listen to recordings that would have never come my way otherwise, and to enjoy the kindness of those who have been willing to share their treasures with Genesis fans. joined this tracker about six years ago and have downloaded a lot of nice Genesis and (ex)members of Genesis recordings, which I probably never had the chance to listen to without YOU, Simon !
